How to Land a Job in Style!

Even though, you don’t need to ramp walk to reach the interview chair, but a little style in your professionalism will go a long way!

I know, you have already impressed the organization with an amazing resume. You have done everything possible to prove your worth for the designation. Now let us stress on a little bit out of your skills and knowledge. Any wild guess what I am talking about?

Yes, I am talking about your appearance, dressing, makeup, hair do. Are you up-to-the mark?  Always remember, on an interview spot even a little bit of anything can bring down your score digits.

Learn few basics about dressing up for an interview:

Don’t compromise on a good night sleep. Wake up on the D-day with a fresh mind as well as a body. A fresh and sparkling shining face manages to drag all the attention towards it.

Girls, choose conventional long-sleeved shirt/blouse in white or pastel shades. Suits, blazer and formal pants, jackets and skirts are the great choices to wear for an interview. When it comes to skirts, go for a length that hits right above or below the knees. Wear shoes which have conventional heels. Fingernails should be clean and trimmed with light shades of nail-paints. Makeup should be kept subtle and neutral.  Avoid darker shades of cosmetics for lipsticks and eye shadows. Wear a thin dark-color headband, pin your hair up and tie a ponytail.

Guys, pick up a conventional two-piece business suit preferably in dark neutral colors including black, navy blues or greys. Compliment it with a silk necktie in conservative pattern and clean polished conventional shoes preferably in black. Apart from few conservative colors, feel free to pick up few solid shades of shirts which can go well with any formal or semi-formal bottom wear. Avoid bulging pockets by keeping bare minimum items into them. Keep hair short and neat.

Keep accessories simple, let us say, do not decorate yourself with facial piercing. Maintain the decorum of the workplace.

Your job interview starts the moment you enter the door! Practice walking into a room! Learn how first impressions work and prepare everything which leaves a good impression. Maintain punctuality! Groom yourself well. Pay attention to your body language. Be confident!

Work on Self. Make a Difference!!
